About:

The project will address the rising unemployment rates in Palestine, estimated at 46.1% in 2024, with an emphasis in Nablus as conflict and poverty rates continue to rise. By facilitating meaningful job opportunities, the project aims to promote skills development and long-term employment for Palestinian youth, thereby contributing to poverty alleviation and economic stability in Nablus.
 
 

Target:

The target includes 200 (150 male and 50 female) unemployed youth aged 18-29 in Nablus Governorate, encompassing both males and females who are semi-skilled and possess a high school diploma, TVET certificate, or have dropped out of high school. 

 
Methodology:
The intervention will be implemented through a multi-faceted approach:

    Leveraging Palestine Catalyst’s extensive experience, a robust job matching platform will be established to connect youth with local employers.
  • Employment Skills Training
    Customized training sessions will be offered, targeting in-demand skills relevant to local job markets. Workshops will focus on both technical and soft skills, ensuring participants are well-prepared for employment.
  • 3-month job placement program
    Youth will be placed in short term jobs to jain crucial on-the-job skills.

    A comprehensive monitoring system will track participants' progress, job placement rates, and the overall impact on local unemployment.
