With a background in Information Technology and Network System engineering, Khalil Abu Lehia was no stranger to the fast-paced world of digital technologies and understood the implications it continues to have in the growth of virtually all industries across the globe. During his search for prospective employment opportunities, Khalil realized that there was a sore lack of jobs available to new graduates regardless of their field of study.

During his search in the local job market, Khalil realized that local organizations of varying sizes have practically no digital presence making it next to impossible to reach out to them to learn more about their work or secure potential employment opportunities. Khalil was inspired and realized that there was an opportunity to be made by tapping into his digital background and helping local and regional organizations build their digital presence and improve their outreach capabilities.

However, for many young Palestinians, including Khalil, learning how to embrace their inner entrepreneur and access the resources and support needed to explore competitive market opportunities is another story. Lucky for Khalil, MENACatalyst had just launched their newest youth empowerment program, Self-Employment in a Digital Age, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, aimed at introducing aspiring digital marketers with the acumen and networks of support needed to launch market ready virtual ventures.

Khalil soon joined MC and a group of nearly forty aspiring digital marketers to learn from a team of industry experts, business enablers, and mentors and gain the practical experience needed to launch a viable venture. As a talented photographer and with a growing interest in social media marketing, through the program, Khalil was able to develop his digital marketing skills and take the first steps towards ideating and incubating his project idea.

During the course of the program, Khalil developed Pixel Studio, a digital marketing venture specialized in photography and videography, more specifically, professional photography services, product photography, promotional video development, and social media management to growing SMEs.

While Pixel Studio is still in its execution stage, Khalil has secured Rayyan Furniture in Nablus as a client and is in the process of securing contracts with at least six additional potential clients. Khalil's accomplishments are just one example of MENACatalyst's tireless networking efforts to connect project participants to lucrative economic opportunities with local and regional stakeholders.
