Networking Night for Palestinian Startups in Dubai

Dubai, UAE, Oct. 25 - MENACatalyst had the honor of attending a dinner event hosted by Mr. Rabea Ataya and his wife Samar Al-Saleh, which featured prominent investors and business experts of the Palestinian diaspora. Mr. Ataya is the CEO, Chairman and Co-founder of Bayt.com, a MENA based platform which links job seekers with employment opportunities.

This meeting was part of MENACatalyst’s efforts to consolidate collaborations and connections between the Palestinian Diaspora and Palestinian based startups. The dinner featured 45 committed members of the diaspora community eager to learn more about the Palestinian startup ecosystem and to work with promising Palestinian entrepreneurs.

Attending diaspora members expressed their interest in providing their relevant business experience, expertise, and networks as an important step towards creating productive business relationships.

Diaspora members and participating startups also explored potential investment opportunities as well as strategies to access new markets needed to enhance the visibility and viability of emerging business ventures.

Mr. Ataya opened the event with a welcoming speech that not only supported MENACatalyst’s efforts to create new opportunities for Palestinian startups but stressed the importance of working towards harnessing the innovative potential of Palestinian led enterprise. MENACatalyst then took the stage and expressed their vision to build the Palestinian virtual global economy by bridging the gap between the diaspora and local based startups, as the foundation for a resilient Palestinian economy.

The dinner was a success, as startups and diaspora business leaders worked towards paving the way for future business collaborations, including mentorship and investment opportunities needed to develop viable business models as well as to access and thrive in new markets.
