Networking Entrepreneurship and Investment Events for Palestinian Startups in Dubai

Dubai, UAE, Oct. 27, 2018 - Along with Dubai Pitch Challenge finalists, MENACatalyst had the great opportunity to attend two impactful events offering relevant exposure into both entrepreneurial innovation as well as the key components required to establish strategic investor relations.

RIT University’s Women Speaker Series entitled Innovation and Entrepreneurship, featured innovative women in various high impact fields working to change the world. The event emphasized the importance of supporting game-changing women led ventures that are not only innovative in nature but that foster innovation amongst emerging women led entrepreneurs as a means to combat unemployment and create resilience in local economies. Further issues that were discussed revolved around the creation of networks and inclusive global communities that work towards empowering women to become leaders in STEM related fields and usher in a new era of inclusivity, diversity and innovation in the startup ecosystem.

From themes of innovation and entrepreneurship at RIT University, to active discussions hosted by Venture Souq entitled Investor Round Up, which revolved around how to strategically acquire investment and develop mutually beneficial collaborations with investors. This event provided the perfect transition for MENACatalyst and participating finalists to learn more about how to approach investors to not only scale up business ventures through lucrative investments, but to create long-lasting collaborative partnerships that attest to the viability, visibility and adaptability of emerging startups to access and make their mark in regional and international based markets. VSQ’s Investor Round up also featured lively discussions and networking sessions between investors and participating entrepreneurs and startups to work towards initiating collaborations. During discussions emphasis on strategic collaborations was not limited to purely financial investments but to an exchange of expertise and experience for mentorship opportunities, access to networks and further developing the business acumen needed for success and longevity in the market.

MENACatalyst’s Dubai Pitch Challenge and Demo Events are jointly funded by Taawon (Welfare Association) and KOICA (Korean International Cooperation Agency).
